Introduction: Hello, friends and supporters! We are excited to share our groundbreaking video game project that combines the thrilling elements of the popular games ‘Among Us’ and ‘Freeze tag’, and a popular children’s book ‘The Color Monster’ while addressing a crucial issue: youth mental health. We believe that gaming can be a powerful tool for positive change, and we are seeking your support to bring this transformative game to life.
Now using the game ‘Among Us’ and ‘Freeze Tag’ may sound funny but we couldn’t do the same type of game as ‘Among Us’ and we couldn’t have killing in the game, so we altered the game to appropriately match our goal. This is a game that is not just played by youth, but it’s a game the entire family can enjoy together. There is mystery, intrigue, and a lot of running away and wild chases. I promise you; this is a game almost any adult would want to play, while it was made for youth in K-12th grade.
Without further ado, we would like to introduce you to:
A game where each player has transformed into an emotional monster of their own, according to their feelings that day. They will be transformed into Sad, Shy, Anxious, and even Happy, Love, and Calm, with a whole list of other emotions to choose from. These avatars will be introduced into a map of very public and private places where youth have experienced mental health struggles in the past, including the mall, theater, school, and yes, even home.
They will need to navigate these maps while escaping their bully monster who wants to freeze them in their emotions. The players objective, as the emotional monster, is to learn to control their emotions by using coping mechanisms and evading their bully. Their bully on the other hand will try to use his triggers to trip you up and find ways to get them stuck in their emotions. You will also find friends, other emotional monsters, who will try to help you overcome your struggles as well. It will be an epic game that helps youth understand their emotions a little better through gameplay.
Mission: We have seen how technology has caused many struggles for youth in their mental health. If technology got us into this, why not use technology to get them out. I mean, it’s very unlikely that youth will stop using their devices. Why not give them something that will help reverse the negative effects of technology. Our sister company, Xogos Gaming, has created an entire gaming platform with this goal in mind.
About the Project: Our project aims to create an engaging and educational game that helps young individuals overcome mental health struggles, promoting social interaction, emotional well-being, and the development of healthy coping mechanisms. By blending some of the mechanics of Among Us and the excitement of Freeze Tag, we have designed a game that provides an immersive and enjoyable experience for players, while also offering a valuable opportunity for personal growth.
The Game's Impact: Mental health issues, among youth, are on the rise, and we believe that early intervention and support are essential. Our game provides a safe and accessible space for young players to explore their emotions, learn coping strategies, and develop resilience. By promoting social gaming, we encourage communication, empathy, and teamwork, fostering a sense of community and connection among players.
Lessons to Learn in the Game: We help youth overcome their struggles by introducing them as Characters that are not them and allowing them to adventure through environments and situations that may bring on these struggles. If they can learn to cope with these issues, they may be able to grow stronger and resistant to these struggles.
How Your Support Helps:
Support: Yes, this is a fundraiser, but we are not just looking for funds, we are looking for your insight as well. We need people to join our focus groups, including teachers, mental health specialists, programmers, parents, and especially students, to help us not only design an extremely fun game, but also a game that will truly help youth overcome these issues.
Funding: We are looking to create a high-quality game that requires significant resources, including software development, artwork, sound design, and testing. By supporting our fundraiser, you will directly contribute to the development and production of the game. Your donations will help fund our very talented team of developers and artist, ensuring the game reaches its fullest potential.
